2024-09-13 15:18 Flexibility & Mobility Stretching Mind-Body Stretching Connection Expert Tips & Advice
Designed by Renata Dianova, a professional athlete in aerial and rhythmic gymnastics, this class offers a unique approach to fitness that focuses on building strength, improving flexibility, and providing a fun, engaging workout. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned athlete, Aerostretching has something for everyone.

The Elements of Aerostretching

Aerostretching blends several core components into each class, making it a comprehensive workout for both the body and mind:

1. Aerial Sport: The acrobatic aspect of Aerostretching introduces impressive, skillful moves that may seem challenging but are safely guided by our experienced trainers. You’ll get to perform these beautiful, aerial acrobatics while developing your agility and body control.

2. Strength Training: Aerostretching works wonders for strengthening your entire body, particularly your arms, spine, legs, and posture-controlling muscles. With each session, you’ll feel yourself becoming more physically powerful and better aligned.

3. Flexibility Enhancement: Stretching is a huge focus in Aerostretching. Regular practice significantly increases your flexibility, particularly aiding in your ability to perform splits and improve your range of motion.

4. Relaxation: After the intense physical work, the class incorporates a relaxation phase. This "turn out" portion helps elongate your spine and relieve tension, leaving you feeling rejuvenated at the end of every session.

5. Fun: Above all, Aerostretching is about having fun. Each class is different, ensuring that no session ever feels monotonous. You'll challenge yourself, enjoy the movement, and look forward to every new workout.

Aerostretching Levels: Tailored to Your Fitness Journey

At TOPSTRETCHING, we offer Aerostretching classes in three different levels to suit all abilities and fitness backgrounds.

1. Light:

This level is perfect for beginners or those returning to exercise after a break. It emphasizes basic exercises to build strength, improve flexibility, and introduce some fun acrobatic moves. You’ll experience something new in a safe and sporty way, all while enjoying the thrill of aerial movement. Light classes also pair well with Healthy Back classes to relieve spinal pain and strengthen your posture muscles, offering a balanced fitness regimen.

2. Base:

For those with more fitness experience, the Base level ramps up the intensity. Here, the focus is on improving active flexibility and increasing strength while introducing more complex acrobatic movements. This level is ideal for those who are ready to challenge themselves and perhaps even wow their family, friends, or social media followers with their newly acquired skills!

3. Pro:

Reserved for advanced practitioners, the Pro level is all about acrobatics. These classes focus on extreme aerial moves, heavy work with the hammock, and exercises that require immense strength and flexibility. In Pro, you’ll learn to maintain a split in the hammock and perform jaw-dropping acrobatic feats. Due to the complexity and strength required, Pro classes are not held regularly at our Zurich studio but are offered during special workshops with guest trainers.

Turned Out Positions: A Key to Spinal Health

An essential part of every Aerostretching class is the turned-out position. This movement helps elongate your spinal cord and relaxes the muscles along your spine. It’s incorporated into every class to ensure your spine is stretched and aligned, leaving you feeling taller, more relaxed, and more in tune with your body’s natural movement.

Who Should Avoid Aerostretching?

While Aerostretching offers numerous benefits, it’s not suitable for everyone. Pregnant women, regardless of their stage in pregnancy, should avoid this class due to the risk it poses to both the mother and child. High-intensity aerial movements can cause complications, including miscarriage or excessive strain.

Additionally, individuals with health conditions like high or low blood pressure should consult their doctor before attending. The nature of aerial exercises and turned-out positions can put undue pressure on the blood vessels, potentially leading to serious complications.
